One of the key professionals, now a leading ambassador campaigning the Pelvic Floor First message widely is Marietta Mehanni. Together we compiled some practical ideas on how to incl...

Water and your Pelvic Floor

While water may lift your pelvic floor a little and take the weight of your pelvic organs (and if you are pregnant, lifts the weight of your baby off your pelvic floor), you will still need to consider the pressure upon your pelvic floor when you use water weights or resistance equipment.

Exercise Modifications during Pregnancy

While there are modifications of exercises recommended during pregnancy and for postnatal women, there are often times that modifications within these exercises themselves need to be made. Each woman seen by a fitness or health professional needs individual attention at regular intervals during their pregnancy.

I love how you mentioned that the "brain reserve can be used and needs to be refilled," because it is very true. If you train your brain, you can learn to use more of it. By doing this, you will become a smarter human being.

Lori 6/02/2014 7:09:12 AM Oh you are so funny! I started reading her book but kept forgetting about it (bought it as an ebook - so not the same as a book in your hands)! I bought some Tiaras to give to patients and now I will go buy some marbles! Thanks for sharing, Dianne!

Sarah 29/10/2013 5:31:53 PM "Dr Sara talks about womens’ tendency to “over providing”, which drains our energy, kills our sex life and undermines our families happiness. She also talked about the “muffin top” ie belly fat that won’t move, sugar cravings and women needing a glass of wine to sooth themselves and to settle down at the end of the day."

I think she might be onto something. I can certainly relate to most of these 'symptoms'.

Thanks Dianne

Fiona 19/08/2013 11:41:08 PM Hi Di,
Glad you have survived the move and all seems to be going well. I love your website. I'm looking forward to having more time to click around here!
My moving tip is make up the beds as soon as you can in the new house (and don't cover the beds with stuff) know where the kettle is packed for emergency cups of tea and order take away dinner for the first night.
See you

Dianne Edmonds 3/06/2013 5:24:30 PM Thanks Lori for your comments. It would be great for postnatal mums to learn this now and not take 9 1/2 years like I did to find out about this information. I was listening to Dr Sara last night and was reminded that we can help join in with her audacious goal to balance the hormones of 1 million women in 2013 - starting here with our postnatal mums!

Thanks again Lori!
